The complete system is a self-contained unit (tabletop or rack-mounted) that allows design, development, test, and operation of real-time single and dual-frequency GPS and other navigational receivers. It contains the antenna, downconverters and front ends, real-time processors, and embedded processors running the software receiver.
The visualization tools (running in the user’s PC) give access to almost every point in the receiver chain, letting users use pseudorange, phase, and correlator outputs at rates of millions of operations per second.
The system allows the development of novel architectural concepts, such as Ultra Tight Coupling, GPS/INS interpretation, CRPA antennas for A/J, and low noise operation. Users can design, develop, and prototype these architectures in one step.
Users can reconfigure the receiver architecture, develop their own algorithms, and immediately operate a real-time system. This reduces development time and efforts by orders of magnitude.
The development system offers all the flexibility and advantages of the CRS software receiver plus guaranteed real-time operation. The system consists of: antennas (LNA), downconverters, software receivers, FPGA correlators, pre-processors, and associated embedded processors for real-time prototyping. A standard PC can set up architectures, control operations, diagnose, and visualize throughout receiver chains. We have made three versions available: the C/A code version, a dual-frequency P-code version, and an M-code version. We can create a Galileo system when necessary.
